The Troop Guide is a Staff Position that is typically assigned to a more senior staff member in years when the Staff Patrol is "over-strength" (with approximately eight or more scouts). The Troop Guide acts as a mentor and instructor for all the younger scouts within the Troop. He assists the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters with training events and is available to help individual patrols instruct their newer scouts.
The POR Patch for Troop Guide is a large tan circle with two horizontal green bars (like the Patrol Leader). A red Scouting Fleur-de-lis is on top of the bars and the words "Troop Guide" are written in green in an inverted arch at the bottom of the patch. Troop Guide is an acceptable POR for rank advancement.
